Security Forces Kill Three Terrorists in Panjgur Intelligence-Based Operation: ISPR

Security forces have killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement issued on Sunday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operation was conducted on January 25 after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists linked to Fitna al Hindustan, a state-designated term used for Balochistan-based militant groups accused of operating with foreign backing.
ISPR stated that troops moved swiftly to the identified location and engaged the militants during an intense exchange of fire. As a result, three terrorists were neutralised, including a local commander identified as Farooq alias Soro.
Security personnel also recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosive material from the site. The statement added that the eliminated militants were involved in multiple terrorist activities targeting security forces and infrastructure in the region.
Following the operation, sanitation efforts were launched to ensure no remaining militants were present in the surrounding area. ISPR reaffirmed that security forces, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, will continue counter terrorism operations under the national security framework of “Azm-e-Istehkam.”
Balochistan has witnessed a rise in militant activity in recent years. According to data released by the Pakistan Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS), terrorist incidents across Pakistan increased sharply in 2025, underscoring ongoing security challenges despite intensified counter terrorism efforts.
