Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has accused Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (KP CM) Sohail Afridi of engaging in illegal activity and unauthorized travel during his visit to Karachi, as part of efforts to mobilize a PTI-led street movement across the country.

Afridi is in Karachi to participate in PTI’s plans for a nationwide wheel-jam strike on February 8, aimed at demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The protest involves blocking roads to disrupt traffic, which, according to Sanaullah, violates legal and constitutional provisions.

Sanaullah Criticizes the PTI Protest

Speaking on Geo News’ program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath’, Sanaullah said:

The PTI does not have legal authority to organize such a strike.

KP CM Afridi’s travel for this purpose is unauthorized and unlawful.

Only a limited number of participants from KP are expected to join the street movement.

The Sindh government will not permit road blockages, and the PTI cannot legally obstruct even a single road.

He further criticized the PTI for continuing to claim that the May 9 riots were a “false flag operation”, accusing the party of spreading misinformation and creating public confusion.

PTI Responds to Allegations

Responding to the allegations, Shafiullah Jan, Adviser to KP CM Afridi, stated that the February 8 strike was called by Mahmood Khan Achakzai, chairman of the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan opposition alliance. Jan said that Sanaullah’s comments were misleading, emphasizing that PTI fully supports Achakzai’s call for a peaceful protest.

Objectives of Afridi’s Karachi Visit

During his three-day visit, KP CM Afridi is scheduled to meet:

Lawyers and business community representatives

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah
