Islamabad — Pakistan woke up to another cold and dry morning on Tuesday as a prolonged winter spell continued to dominate weather conditions across the country. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), chilly conditions will persist in most plain areas today, while rain and snowfall are expected in northern and mountainous regions under the influence of a weak western disturbance.

- Islamabad: 6–8°C, cold morning with clear skies
- Lahore: 7–9°C, dry and chilly start
- Karachi: 10–12°C, unusually cool coastal morning
- Quetta: -3 to -1°C, freezing conditions
Northern Areas Weather
Northern Pakistan continues to experience severe cold, with temperatures remaining below freezing in several locations:
- Murree / Galiyat: -1 to 1°C, chances of light snowfall
- Gilgit: -8 to -10°C, intense cold
- Skardu: -12 to -15°C, extreme freezing
- Hunza & Upper GB: Sub-zero with icy winds
The PMD has stated that light rain and snowfall may occur today in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Murree and surrounding hill stations, which could further lower temperatures.
Travel Advisory
Authorities advise caution for travelers heading towards northern and hilly regions, as snow-covered roads and icy patches may cause disruptions. Fog formation during early morning hours may also reduce visibility on motorways and major highways in Punjab and KP.
Islamabad Forecast (Today)
Islamabad is expected to remain cold and dry throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of 14–16°C. No rainfall is expected, but cold winds during morning and night hours will increase the chill factor.
