U-19 Asia Cup: Pakistan Qualify for Semi-Finals After 70-Run Win Over UAE

Pakistan U-19 booked their place in the Asia Cup semi-finals with a convincing 70-run victory over hosts United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the ICC Academy Ground in Dubai on Tuesday.

Pakistan Post Competitive Total

After winning the toss, Pakistan chose to bat first but lost a few early wickets. Sameer Minhas helped steady the innings with a calm 44 runs off 63 balls, hitting five boundaries.

The innings was then anchored by Ahmed Hussain, who scored a solid 65 off 91 balls, including four fours. His half-century provided stability in the middle order.

In the final overs, Hamza Zahoor added quick runs, scoring 42 off 51 balls with four boundaries. Pakistan finished with 241 for 9 in their allotted overs.

For UAE, Yug Sharma was the standout bowler with three wickets, while Naseem Khan picked up two wickets.

Abdul Subhan Shines as UAE Collapse

Chasing 242, UAE struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack. Despite a fighting 77 off 74 balls by Ayaan Misbah, which included 12 boundaries, the rest of the batting lineup failed to support him.

UAE were bowled out for 171, with more than 12 overs remaining, sealing a dominant win for Pakistan.

Right-arm pacer Abdul Subhan led the attack with an impressive spell, taking 4 wickets for 31 runs. He now has seven wickets in two matches, making him one of the tournament’s top performers.

Leg-spinner Ahmed, along with Mohammad Sayyam and Momin Qamar, claimed one wicket each. Pakistan’s excellent fielding also played a key role, as three UAE batters were run out.

Semi-Final Clash Ahead

With this win, Pakistan U-19 advance to the Asia Cup semi-finals and will face the top team from Group B on Friday. The U-19 Asia Cup final is scheduled to be played on Sunday.
