Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said Pakistan and Qatar had reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and constructive dialogue across the region during a telephone conversation with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

In a statement shared on X, PM Shehbaz said he was “delighted” to receive the call from his Qatari counterpart as both leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East.

“We exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and reaffirmed our shared commitment to support all ongoing efforts aimed at promoting lasting peace, stability, and constructive dialogue across the region,” the prime minister stated.

The premier also conveyed appreciation to Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for Qatar’s continued support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts focused on advancing regional peace through dialogue and engagement.

The conversation comes at a time of heightened geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East, where regional powers are increasingly emphasizing diplomacy to prevent further escalation and maintain stability.

Pakistan Pushes Diplomatic Engagement

Pakistan has recently intensified diplomatic outreach with regional and international partners as Islamabad continues to advocate dialogue-driven solutions to ongoing geopolitical tensions. Analysts say Qatar’s active mediation role in regional affairs has further strengthened cooperation between the two countries on key diplomatic initiatives.

Why it matters now: The renewed Pakistan-Qatar coordination highlights Islamabad’s growing diplomatic engagement in regional peace initiatives as tensions across the Middle East continue to draw international concern.
