Pakistan-China Ties: FM Ishaq Dar, Wang Yi Call Friendship Vital for Regional Peace and Stability

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday reaffirmed that the Pakistan-China friendship is “vital” for regional peace, stability, and prosperity, as they co-chaired the 7th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Beijing.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO), both leaders highlighted the importance of the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and agreed to strengthen coordination at both bilateral and multilateral levels. They reviewed the full scope of Pakistan-China relations, including CPEC, trade, regional security, and people-to-people exchanges.

The two sides also agreed to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations, officially launching year-long celebrations by unveiling a commemorative logo in Beijing.

During his visit, Dar—who also serves as Deputy Prime Minister—held meetings with senior Chinese leaders, including Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and expanding future collaboration.

Dar also met Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC), where discussions focused on party-to-party ties, regional developments, and ongoing CPEC projects.

The Foreign Office said the strategic dialogue remains the highest consultative platform between Pakistan and China, reflecting both countries’ shared commitment to regional peace, economic development, and long-term strategic partnership.
